Estimation of the Fracture Probability Parameters for Specimens Made by JIS SM490A Steel

This work established the fracture probability equation for JIS SM490A steel using computational model supported by local approach and standard Crack Tip Opening Displacement (CTOD) toughness experiments. As experiments were conducted at a low temperature providing conditions brittle fracture, specimen suffers small plastic deformation until its failure. The tries to represent experiment results, estimating scale shape parameters of Weibull distribution cumulative equation. A procedure based on was executed find optimum values In addition, plot provided show likelihood according assumed parameters. end, comparison between experimental predicted statistical critical CTOD done successfully, indicating that material can be present model.
